"Joe, I need you to come in to work...Santa called in sick."
Those are the words I heard when my mom called me from work a couple days before Christmas.
My family runs a nursing home in my home town. Apparently, the fellow who was to show up there to be Santa was feeling a bit under the weather, so an emergency replacement was needed. I put up some resistance to the request at first, but I caved since it was either I show up or the elderly get no Santa.
I'm definitely glad I went. Many of the elderly know me, and I got some priceless reactions from people who could see me through the costume. It was fun. But it was also a bit sad and humbling. When I asked one woman what she wanted for Christmas, she replied "to walk better."

ha, that's pretty awesome. :)
Ha! Joseph, you make a very convincing Santa.
Ok, that was a lie, but I love it all the same. :)
hahaha I'm glad I worked that day. haha but you might want to be careful with those pictures. If a family member stumbled across them somehow I'm sure you'd get into trouble.
Nah, I don't think it's a big deal.
